Olga Amelchenkosigns to Edition Records

Edition Records is pleased to announce the signing of Olga Amelchenko, a talented Russian saxophonist based in Paris. Known for her authentic and deeply expressive approach, Olga is set to release a series of digital releases leading her brand new album later in 2025 showcasing her unique blend of emotion and intellect.

Born in 1988 in Russia, Olga began her musical journey at the age of five, initially singing in a choir before picking up the piano and dombra two years later. Her formal education began at the College of Music in Abakan, where she transitioned from choir conducting to saxophone studies. She further honed her craft in Novosibirsk, graduating in jazz from the College of Music in 2010, and continued her studies in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne between 2012 and 2014. Olga completed her Bachelor of Jazz Performance in Berlin in 2018 and earned a Master of Jazz Composition and Arrangement from the Jazz Institut Berlin in 2019.

Olga has been an active figure in the European jazz scene, leading the Olga Amelchenko Quartet and HELICON, and collaborating with various ensembles such as the Musina Ebobisse Quintet, Franck Tortiller’s “Led Zeppelin Chapter Two,” Unique, and Leon Parker Embodi Jazz Ensemble. Her discography includes “Shaping Motions” (2018), “Live at Loft” (2021), and “Slaying the Dream” (2023), each reflecting her dedication to creating music that is both personal and meaningful.

Expressing her excitement about joining Edition Records, Olga stated, “I’ve looked up to Edition Records for many years and have grown artistically through the music of its incredible artists. Joining the label feels like a significant achievement in itself, but more importantly, it feels like becoming part of a supportive and inspiring community. I am certain my music is in the best hands, and I am genuinely excited for all the experiences that lie ahead.”
