SUBMISSION POLICY

Please submit your music here

Thank you for your interest in sharing your music with us at Edition Records. We love listening to music, it’s what we do, but please consider that we get a very high volume of demo submissions and we are a small team, so there may be a delay in us getting back to you.

We have a simple process for you to share your music with us:

  • Please read the FAQs listed below and ensure your music is the right fit for sharing with us
  • To submit your music, please fill out this form. To create a fair process we don’t accept and won’t respond to email submissions.
  • This process is for you to put your music in front of us, we are not able to provide feedback if we decide not to work with you.
  • We review submissions on a regular basis, but it may take us up to 2-3 weeks to reply to your submission. Please don’t resubmit or email to follow up, this will delay the review process.
  • If we are interested in working with you or we have any further questions you’ll be contacted by a member of the team, with an Edition records email address. Any other contact is not representative of the label.

We look forward to hearing your music!

FAQs

Do you accept demos? Yes, please follow the submission process. We ask that you think carefully before sending – please only share music that’s finished, with a clear vision, and that you feel ready to talk about in the wider context of your career. We recommend you explore our existing catalogue and soundworld and make sure we are an appropriate home for your music.

What does Edition look for when considering new releases? We’re looking for music that feels distinctive, well-shaped, and creatively driven – something with a strong artistic voice and an audience in mind. Projects that show ambition, direction, and a sense of purpose tend to connect most with us.

Who is involved in making decisions? We receive a lot of submissions, but we do our best to listen and consider each one. The final decision is made by CEO Dave Stapleton, but the wider team is involved in the listening, discussion and process. We also take input and recommendations from colleagues in the industry or existing Edition artists to learn more about an artist.

What is the timeline? We aim to review a submission within three months, but this will depend on the time of year and the demands of the label. We schedule our releases up to 12 months in advance, so please take this into account when planning your timeline.

How do you decide what to release? It’s never easy, with so much music being shared with us. We think about what excites us creatively, the story behind the project, the artist’s profile and audience, how the music might connect through live performance and streaming, and how it sits alongside other releases we’re working on. It’s rare that we will work with an artist who we have no knowledge of, so we also take input from industry colleagues and existing Edition artists.

What kind of artists are a good fit for Edition? Artists who have a clear vision and intent, who are pushing things forward creatively, and who are engaged with their audience. We value artists who are open to collaboration, not just musically but in the way they approach their strategy and campaigns.

What if the album isn’t right for Edition? We have a limited capacity as a label, often we release around 12-16 albums a year. Sometimes we hear music we admire but that isn’t the right fit for us to release. If now isn’t the right time, this doesn’t mean you can’t submit your music to us again in future.
