Azamiah are a part-London & part-Glasgow-based four-piece band fast becoming one of the standout new groups in the UK jazz-soul scene.

Founded by vocalist INDIA BLUE, Josef Akin on keys, Norman Villeroux on bass and Alex Palmer on drums, Azamiah creates music with a deep atmosphere and emotional force. Their sound draws from soul, jazz, dub and modern electronic production, shaped by live-band chemistry, strong melodic hooks, rich textures and a powerful emotional pull.

Their signing to Edition Records marks a major next step for the group as they build towards their second full-length album, due for release in early 2027.

The new album follows the band’s acclaimed debut album In Phases, released in 2023, which received a five-star review from The Skinny, who described the album as “radiating a fresh, unique vibrance, marking them as one to watch.”. The record drew attention for its meditative atmosphere, ensemble language and soulful depth. Their 2025 EP Two Lands pushed the sound forward with greater intensity, acting as a bridge between the debut and the new album to come.

Azamiah have also built strong live momentum across the UK and Europe, with appearances and showcases connected to The Great Escape, The Jazz Café, Brick Lane Jazz, JAZZMI Milan, North Sea Round Town Rotterdam, Wide Days, jazzahead! and SXSW. 

2027 looks set to be a defining year for the band as they grow an audience that connects jazz, soul, electronic production and a new generation of crossover listeners.
