Following his Mercury Prize-shortlisted album, celebrated pianist Joe Webb returns on October 30, 2026, with his new live EP Neath Beat Live!.
Captured at Audio Gold, a premier Hi-Fi space in London, Neath Beat Live! presents the Joe Webb Trio delivering dynamic live renditions from Webb’s latest album Neath Beat.
Following the Mercury Prize-shortlisted Hamstrings & Hurricanes, these compositions mark a defining point in Webb’s rapidly rising career.
Known for his explosive piano style, featured on Later… with Jools Holland and alongside artists like RAYE and Wynton Marsalis, Webb fuses the rhythmic drive of stride piano with the melodic instincts of Britpop and songwriting influences from his South Wales upbringing.
Neath Beat Live! captures the trio’s signature sound with hi-fi clarity, channelling the lineage of Oscar Peterson and Duke Ellington through an urgent, high-energy live performance.
“Webb is a wonderfully inventive pianist with a formidable technique, but it’s the sincerity that really makes this music stand out, and to break out to all sorts of people who just like music. Superb.” Jazzwise ★★★★
Neath Beat Live! will be released digitally on 30 Oct, 2026.
