In 2009, London based trio Troyka released one of the most revered and highly acclaimed albums of the year, pushing them to the forefront of the British Jazz Scene. Just over two years down the line, Troyka recorded their sensational second album ‘Moxxy’, and sent shockwaves throughout the European Jazz scene. Fuelled by textural guitar loops, angular riffs and displaced drum grooves, Troyka have distilled their unique genre bending live act into a compelling listening experience.

‘Three of the most important young British jazz musicians we have in this country… they seem to be able to create these extraordinary atmospheres within their improvisation, and actually I think the melodic quality of their songwriting has moved on a lot in this new album’. JAMIE CULLUM BBC RADIO 2
‘Moxxy advances on the group’s eponymously titled 2009 debut, the music sounding both deep rooted and as modern as the moment — spikily abstract at times, gracefully lyrical or traditionally rock-bluesy at others’. GUARDIAN ****
‘…a unique trio that rises to the top of the UK scene. They exhibit a jazz sensibility that involves deep improvisation and complex composition, all imbued with a savage attack and impressively substantial mood-sculpting’. BBC MUSIC REVIEW
