Anglo-Scandinavian trio Phronesis have today announced that they will take an extended break from touring and recording at the end of 2020.
Over the last 14 years, Phronesis have been one of the most talked about and acclaimed European bands. And for good reason. Over eight studio and live albums, the trio have built a world-wide reputation based on melodically fluent writing, a muscular, bold sound and visceral, highly kinetic musical interplay. They have also gained a considerable live following for the excitement of their energetic life-affirming performances.
For Edition, the band have been a central and vital part to our own story and growth. Together we share a deep history and over six releases have plugged, promoted and distributed their music to fans all over the world. It’s been a hugely rewarding story and one we’re deeply proud of.
This year the band have made a collective decision to take an extended break from the end of 2020 to focus their creative energies on their own individual projects, live work and recordings. We would like to deeply thank all members of the band for letting us share their journey so far, as well as their manager Sue Edwards, for her tireless energy. It’s been one hell of a ride!
And a very big thank you to all the fans who have attended performances and listened to the band’s music. There will still be many opportunities to catch the trio live on tour before the end of this year.
Of course, we’re all keeping our fingers crossed that the trio will return again to press play on Phronesis 2.0 in future years…
