We are very excited to welcome concert pianist Tom Poster to Edition’s classical imprint, Edition Classics, for a three-album deal.
Tom Poster is internationally recognised as a pianist of outstanding artistry and versatility. It gives us great pleasure to welcome Tom to our Edition Classics roster and we look forward to working with him on his solo projects in the coming years.
The British pianist has been at the forefront of music making for the last decade, equally in demand as a soloist with an unusually extensive repertoire and as a talented chamber musician.
Praised for his beautifully pure tone and warm and beguiling sound, Tom has performed concertos with many of the top British orchestras, played many international solo recitals, featured regularly on BBC Radio 3 as a soloist and chamber musician as well as appearing several times at the BBC Proms. He regularly works in duo partnerships with Alison Balsom, Guy Johnston and Jennifer Pike and with the Aronowitz Ensemble.
With previous recordings on EMI, Decca, Chandos and Champs Hill, his signing to Edition Classics marks an important new phase in Tom’s career and will focus on building a home for his international solo work.
Tom’s first disc for Edition Classics, which will explore the contrasts of light and shadow, with Beethoven’s ‘Pastoral’ Sonata and Chopin’s ‘Funeral March’ Sonata framing Schumann’s Waldszenen (Forest Scenes), is due for release in Summer 2015.
